Disappointing interaction. Would not recommend renting from them.
I rented a house seeing the ad that stated heating and cooling and other things. When I reached there to live, AC wasn't working so i asked them to fix - took them a month to fix, then after a week the cold season started and i found out that heating wasn't working as well. Talked and filed a maintenance request. It isn't fixed yet its been almost a month and half now. They had exact 25 days to fix evrythng(am not exaggerating) between when i paid them first and last and when I actually moved.
There heat system is not working and we are suffering from this problem from the past month. Management told us it will be all good and will send someone professional to fix the issue but no action is being taken and when we call them their behaviour with us is disrespectful. They are sending there people to just check the temperature of the house and want to impose things on us. Just want to share my worse experience with this management.
keeps terrible records, and provides minimal service. bad attitude from them and the people they hire to do any work if lucky enough to actually get work done. a lot of misrepresentation of units as well as services. would never reccommend
I am new to the area and rented a house from Marda Mgmt. From start to finish, the process was very organized and extremely friendly. Now, 30 days into our new home, the excellent service continues. They are quick and responsive to service calls and answering questions regarding the place you are renting. My husband and I highly recommend them to anyone.
Their online application platform is cumbersome, rigid, and non-intuitive. Their business model is cold, aloft, and unwelcoming to their potential clients. I feel bad for that nice property’s owner for using their services. They are sure to lose a lot of good quality renters for them like they lost me. Yes, it’s nice to have an online business model to facilitate services and create efficiency. But this can never replace the effect of warm human interaction on closing business deals. Avoid!
I have been living in one of the apartments managed by Marda on Erie Street East for two years. My experience was great. The building is quiet and well maintained. The maintenance service was excellent. The technical staff would attend to your problem as soon as possible. I found the staff friendly. Do not hesitate to contact Marda in case you are lookng for a rental apartment.
My experience with Marda Management was the most diligent and the most dignifying I have ever had in a search for a rental unit. I strongly recommend this company to everyone. When I was referred to Marda Management, I got a little skeptical after doing my homework on the company. Then I decided to take a chance since I had nothing to lose. I provided the required information and made sure every single piece of document needed was there. I got approved within the next 4 hours! Fully satisfied!
I, sofar, only experienced direct and prompt replies to my inquiries. Maintenance issues were addresses appropriately, even involving Dale (owner of Marda).
Went look at Duplex this evening and they are asking for $1050 a month and they didnt even bother to clean the place..Nasty nasty business practice and then they want to run credit checks about your worthiness as Tenants ..I have never in my life seen such a thing , I would highly recommend you find a private owner then this Management company ..
Worst management company of all time. Rude and incompetent employees who lack any consideration for their tenants. They take too long to get work orders done and they treat you like crap when you request maintenance or a cleaning crew. Our building was so nasty after a month of No one showing up to clean. When they finally did bring someone, they didn't have a clue how to clean properly. She was using a dirty mop and gross brown water. Made it worse than it was. Rude and unprofessional company.

Terrible company. They make borderline misrepresentations about amenities in their buildings, such as wifi. They have not followed up on the majority of maintenance issues (I've been here a month and that's MULTIPLE), one of which would be considered very serious. They do not care about tenants. While some people appeared to be genuinely trying to help, the majority of people I have dealt with at this company were either incompetent or rude, or both. I strongly urge you not to rent from them.
Marda has been good to my roommate for over a year. Never had any issues and any maintenance issues were dealt with promptly.
This management company is horrible The people they hire to clean don't know what cleaning entails The rent is very reasonable Never would I use them again I would never recommend them to anyone We've been without hot water for 3 weeks You can never reach management only a maintenance line thats answered from the States
MARDA management is run by two extraordinaire individuals. Marla and Dale are professional, hard working and two very passionate people about there company. There whole staff will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied and happy with your rental property. I would highly recommend renting from MARDA to anyone.
They have a number of decent properties, but they are very slow to respond to concerns and often seem a bit scattered. One instance someone came on appointment to view an apartment we were leaving and Marda never showed up. They are very confrontational and while they take great efforts to sound legalistic, they are unprofessional and come off as being childish. I say this having rented a place they took over, and also from seeing how they have dealt with other people I've known.

Hi Chris, I am sorry to hear this was your experience with us. Typically when we take over any property, it takes time for tenants to become accustom to our practices. For example, we have a maintenance line that is 24/7/365 and while this is a great service, if tenants are used to speaking with a familiar voice which is often the same person they pay their rent to, then it sometimes takes time for tenants to get used to that. Same thing applies with paying cash for rent. We won't come to your door to get cash. It isn't safe for us or you. There is a way you can remit cash as a payment for rent, although that too isn't our preference. These are just a few examples of the various things that we do that really lend to our company having policies and practices that are often not in place when we take a property over. As far as you going to see a rental unit and no one showing up for you appointment, please accept my sincere apology. I don't know your particular case as I don't know who you are but I am sure we did not do that intentionally and should you wish to see a place with us in the future I encourage you to consider giving us another chance. I really apologize for that, no one wants to wait around for someone else, I can say that for sure. As for other people you know that haven't necessarily had great things to say about us - please remember, you don't know other people's situations. We have tenants who don't like us because we insist on prompt rent payments and proceed with evictions promptly if we don't receive them, for one of many examples. I could give you examples of tenants who caused damage to their rental apartment and haven't paid to fix it so they are made that the repair is not made. In cases that are not speciric to vital services and usually are cosmetic we don't fix them if you haven't paid for the repair as you are responsible to return the unit to the condition it was found, and at your cost. These are just a few examples that I am sure you can understand of why tenants might not be happy with their landlord. At the end of the day Chris we are a small business that is growing rapidly in the Windsor area and while we've had our challenges along the way we want to provide the best service we can. We are looking for good tenants who pay their rent and respect their space and in the end we are pretty good landlords that hundreds of tenants are very happy with. We hope you will consider giving us another chance.
I will never recommend this company to anybody. Awful customer service!

Unfortunately this opinion is based on the fact that you broke your lease, and were told you'd be charged for the City of Windsor attending your property to remove the snow as you did not do so, despite the items in your lease. I am sorry you felt as though our persistence about that meant we have awful customer service but we sincerely hope that perhaps in hind sight you can see that in the end we want respectful tenants that will adhere to their lease, and likewise if you have an issue with your unit we will be happy to work with you to resolve it. I'm sorry your experience was negative and we encourage you to consider when signing future lease agreements if you have the ability to take care of things like snow and lawn care as we wouldn't want to see you in a position like this again, especially since city bylaw infraction fines can be very expensive.
