Does the world really need a poutine menu with 51 choices? Nope, didn't think so, especially when the gravy on my regular poutine (fries, curds and gravy) tasted like fake dill. The fries hadn't been cooked long enough to hold up under all of the gravy and were soggy. I like my poutine fries to still have a bit of crunch, and these did not. The gravy reminded me of the dill flavoured popcorn seasoning, and overwhelmed the whole dish. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the cheese curds.
The table we sat at had clearly not been wiped, and we had to ask the server to remove the greasy splotches. As well, the restroom needed a bit of attention (We were in on a Saturday afternoon that was not very busy) so this made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.
-Greasy, undercooked, underdrained generic french fries. I don't think the oil was clean or hot enough.
-The chicken fingers were cooked, but nothing special.
-I was getting a take-out order, asked for ketchup and it was not provided.
It did seem like a cool place to hang out with friend and talk, but if you are hungry there are other places on George St (also open late) where they know how to cook fries,
Best place in town to get some late night grub the foods pretty good, large portions for reasonable prices staff were friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant
