Opened in 1998, this longstanding locally-owned-and-operated business has evolved along with the needs of the neighbourhood’s dog owners. Welcoming dogs of all sizes, Kitsilano’s It’s Still a Dog’s Life offers self-service and full-service bathing, grooming, and their sought-after express nail trimmings and de-skunking services.
“Nail trimmings have kind of become my own little niche,” says co-owner Louise Marshall. “And the de-skunking, I think we’re the only place in town—we get ‘em all!” After years of de-skunking dogs, It’s Still a Dog’s Life began offering innovative de-skunking kits, complete with instructions to keep on hand in the event of an emergency. “It takes out all the panic and frustration. They can do it right away at home. But if they don’t have one, we can do it here for them.”
It’s Still a Dog Life offers a selection of quality retail products that reflect an organic, local-when-possible lifestyle. Louise, along with co-owner Tracy Lipsman, extend this effort to all aspects of their business.
