After returning home from university, Rob Browatzke began working in Edmonton’s gay nightlife industry, including bussing and bartending in bars. Then, in 2013, Rob took on the role of leader, as Evolution Wonderlounge prepared to open that September.
“This was the first time I was able to be part of the team, right from the beginning,” he says. “There’s nothing quite like the feeling of looking up and seeing a packed place, where everybody’s just having a really good time.”
Since 2013, Evolution Wonderlounge has become a place with “a little something for everyone,” says Rob. It’s a lounge with karaoke, dancing, “burlesque shows, comedy shows and open mic shows … for the most part, we’re pretty solid with the entertainment,” says Rob.
