The landscape of downtown Calgary has changed a lot since the mid-1980s, but Reid's has been offering stationery, greeting cards and party supplies through it all. Back in 1984, the entire Reid family – parents, sisters and brother – wanted to open a true family business. It didn’t take long for them to decide on what to sell, since stationery already ran in the family. Their mother's family had owned Lewis Stationery, which made their knowledge and passion about stationery products feel like second nature.
“It’s a true family business and it’s worked very well that way,” says Maureen. “It’s something that the whole family has been able to do.”
