Mat Collective

95 32nd Avenue E, Vancouver BC V5V 2Y1

Mat Collective – an initiative that started as a yoga mat recycling program and grew into a yoga community – is serving up an amazing opportunity for alfresco yoga this summer with free outdoor yoga classes. Mat Collective’s outdoor classes take place every day of the week at two locations: Kits Beach Park and the north side of Riley Park by Merakos Fieldhouse (which is also where you’ll find Mat Collective’s indoor shared studio space). Not sure you’ll fit in? Classes are available for all ages and ability levels and class styles include Hatha, Flow, Power, Kundalini and Yin. Just bring your own mat, if you have one (there are free mats available to borrow) or beach towel.

Running on most Sunday evenings from 5 to 6 pm, these free outdoor classes are a great way to end your weekend in the sunshine. YYoga’s Sunset Yoga Series takes place at the Olympic Riverside Plaza throughout July and August.

6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver BC V7R 4K9

Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Vancouver and YYoga have teamed up to give super-active yogis a view to remember with summer outdoor yoga classes on the top of Grouse Mountain. Led by YYoga instructors, the 60-minute, weather-permitting outdoor yoga classes run on weekend mornings throughout July and August and are held in the plaza, just outside the chalet. The best part? Getting to class is as fun as the class itself: enjoy spectacular views as you take the Skyride up the mountain, or hike the Grouse Grind for an amazing pre-class sweat sesh.
