Last night, WFCU Credit Union presented the Constable John Atkinson Scholarship to two St. Clair College students, Mazin Tiea and Darrelle Vaughan. This scholarship was established to honour John Atkinson’s service and dedication to protecting the citizens of Windsor and Essex County. It is awarded to two students annually who are enrolled in the Protection Security and Investigation program or the Police Foundations Programs and actively involved in the community. Yesterday, Brian Masse, M.P. recognized our very own Eddie Francis and WFCU board member Kathleen Thomas, with the King Charles III Coronation medal for making a difference in Windsor and Essex County. WFCU Credit Union staff and board members were also presented with a plaque recognizing their service in the community. The King Charles III Coronation medal highlight’s themes that both King Charles III and Canadians hold dear, including service, the environment and sustainability, and our nation’s diversity. The Canadian commemorative medal was created to mark His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation on May 6, 2023.
