Best Sushi Buffet in Whitby

Our family goes to this place all the time. We tried other buffet places and the food is not as good as here. I have food sensitivies to avocado and have made requests to make some dishes without it...and they were very accomodating. Maybe we are spoiled since we go there a lot and the owner has become familiar with us....oh well. When you like a place - Im sure you go there often. Yeah....it can get busy there so we know about the slow service at times.....But overall you cannot find a more homey place for sushi in Whitby - IMO. Go for lunch during the weekday and you do get pampered. For lunch I suggest getting the teriyaki stuff since there are NO sashimis. The Oishi Maki roll is really good.

Worst service EVER!

Do not request a booth for your birthday party or you will pay!! Fri 5:45pm, not busy & owner Theresa told waitress to ignore our request for booth!! $21 all you can eat = waitress coming by only once to take our order. It took THREE hrs to get 1 round of sushi and 1 combo -needless to say we were 100%ignored the entire evening. Worse still, parts of the order were omitted. Did not get a 'is everything ok, can I get you anything else' AT ALL. It appeared they decided our 'all you can eat' was done. Daughter was rudely embarrassed & scolded by owner Theresa for looking at the fried rice in front of her when the rest of our party almost finished with first and only round of sushi and her combo order STILL had not arrived. Theresa extremely unfriendly but turned on the charm when time to pay. I told her my son's birthday was completely ruined and they offered no apology or concern. Quality of food and service does not warrant cost.

Consistent great food and service

we have tried various sushi restaurants in the Durham Region, and by far have enjoyed every experience to oishi maki. Their staff is very attentive and speak fluent English. The food is always fresh and very tasty. It is a clean restaurant and has a nice atmosphere. We have visited with various party sizes for both dinner and lunch. Lots of variety of kitchen food and sushi. AYCE also includes bubble tea and short ribs where most ayce sushi places do not. At dinner they also serve creme brulee and deep fried banana for dessert. Highly recommend.

Always a pleasure to visit, delicious sushi brought quickly to your table, and great service with a smile! We had the All You Can Eat Lunch which stuffed us full of salmon sushi, tempura and maki. Definitely will return, many many times!

Quality, value, service with a smile

I've been to this restaurant several times and the experience has been consistently excellent. I've been there for lunch, dinner and also as part of a dinner party. I have found the hostesses very attentive even when busy. Notable for when we've had the all-you-can-eat option with a party group +10 people) they came around at appropriate intervals to attend to us and ask for additional orders without us having to "wave them down". I find the sushi preparation certainly above average. This is on my regular visit list and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys japanese cuisine.

Always a favorite. Best sushi in Whitby by far. Best to go all you can eat as lately regular menu selections gave been unavailable more often than not which is why only four stars.

Absolutely terrible...

Service was non-existent (literally for about 10min after arrival), so we seated ourselves. The sashimi order was so small that we actually counted the number of pieces of fish (steamed egg and fake crab meat were included as part of the count, so was the 1/2 sized square-shaped cut pieces of tuna). This lunch actually sparked a discussion at our table about other terrible Japanese restaurants we had dined in (in small towns in the US or in northern Canada). The only thing we found commendable was the display of sliced cucumbers... and we ate it all!

Very good sushi, especially for an all-you-can-eat place. (Usually it's quantity over quality). This place is clean, new and fresh- and the people working there are very attentive and super friendly. A really great experience! The only negative thing I can say is that in my opinion they put too much Japanese mayonnaise in their sushi, but next time I just plan on ordering it without the mayo. Everything was fresh, and the presentation was lovely. This is my new favourite sushi place in Whitby! Yum.

Great Food, Great Presentation, All Round Great

In my opinion, the best sushi in Whitby. I've had sushi at a number of places in Whitby but this is my new favorite. The food is top notch. The fish is very fresh. The food is quick to arrive. The presentation is excellent. The menu items contain the regulars from any sushi place but also have a number of unique and original items. I tried a few items from the "Sushi Bar" list and all were excellent. The Oishi Maki and the Volcano Roll were my favorites. I will definitely be going back. If there is only one bad thing to say about it, was that there was only one person working both the tables and the takeout. I understand they are pretty new, so hopefully as they grow, they will be able to keep up with the demand.

Best Sushi in Durham

Amazing service, very nice and friendly. Prices are good. Discount for paying cash. Go 10 times get a free dinner. I have been there several times, never disappointed. The food is the best and they have the best spicy salmon rolls ever. If you go you need to try the Volcano Roll, its a warm roll with deep fried squid, you will love it.
