As the bars and nightclubs on Toronto’s trendy West Queen West strip let out in the early hours of the morning, Poutini’s House of Poutine is just getting started. “It’s where you come after you go to the bar, after you go wherever. You come here to kind of have those extended hours of socializing and dancing and having fun,” says Caleb Milatovic, the poutine shop’s manager.
During the after-midnight rush, patrons might even see Caleb dancing to an eclectic soundtrack of staff-picks blaring from the speakers while serving the hundreds who pass through. It’s just a part of the upbeat, after-hours atmosphere that staff members strive to create and Caleb says keeps customers returning. “I think that’s why people love coming here, especially on Fridays and Saturday nights,” says Caleb. “They’re going to have a great experience.”
