My wife and I spent a week in Picton and tried a number of different dining establishments. This was by far the worse. We were going to the theatre in Milford that night, and were told by the restaurant we should arrive early as it would be very busy. We arrived at 5:45 as suggested and noticed that there were only 6 other people in the restaurant. When we left at 7:00 pm there were still only 6 people in the restaurant. I was told the soup special of the night, and asked why the menu board said something different?. It was then I was told that a mistake was made and the soup on the board was correct. Asked for a wine on their wine list, and was told they would have to make sure the wine was available as they were changing their wine menu. Why give us the wine menu then??. I had beef bourginon which was good, but a little salty. My main complaint is the portion size, small at best. The locally grown vegtables were good, but again puny portions. The biggest dissapointment was my wife's meal. She ordered chicken in puff pastry. The chicken was dry and not very tasteful. The puff pastry was about the size of a Big Mac container but when opened, contained only about 1/4 cup of finely diced chicken that was very dry. I also felt the price they charged for this entree was frankly outrageous. The cheese bread appetizers were alright but had a waxy texture. Very very dissapointing considering the prices that are charged.
