My wife and I went there for our 34 Th Anniversary and our very first visit and we were happy with everything we ate. Not a food critic but I would highly recommend.

this place has by far the best italian food in Barrie...and area...they have amazing selections of wines as well...my new fav restaruant!!
Beautiful atmosphere and great service. However; my husband and I did not feel as though we got what we paid for. I ordered a caesar salad and their pork special, he had no appetizer and a pork choice off the menu. I had only one glass of beer and our bill managed to reach well over $90.00. I understand the value of a great meal and would never complain if I truly felt what I recieved was worth what I paid.
Very nice place, hard to spot from Dunlop Street. Best approach is from the public lot on Simcoe Street. We stopped for lunch and enjoyed the "Price Fixe" 3 course meal for $13.50. The meal was well prepared, but I was disappointed to find that bread was not served with the pasta dishes. Our waitress took my concern to the manager and negotiated a side order of bread. Very relaxed atmosphere, we never felt rushed. The waitress was very helpful and advised us that the Price Fixe menu was only for a limited time. We will definitely return and look forward to seeing the summer menu.
This is a wonderful restaurant on all levels. The atmosphere is simply gorgeous and the staff are already friendly and welcoming. It is the kind of restaurant where you typically dress up more than casual, but if you showed up in jeans you would still receive great service. The food is slightly pricey, but definitely worth it for the size of the portions and quality of the meal. It is a shame that il Buco is not well known, because I feel it is a large 5-star experience and highly recommend it.
