I've used both CLIA's Lawyer Referral Service and their website. They operate the lawyer referral service on behalf of the legal community and can arrange a 40 minute consultation with a lawyer, who has experience in the issue of concern, for a very low fee ($25 + taxes). The website features lots of easily understandable information about a multitude of legal issues, and there is a free telephone information line that operates Monday to Thursday, 9-4.

The hours of the telephone inquiry line have been changed. Calls are answered from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday. There are staff in the office daily (Mon - Fri) from 8 to 4.
