Victoria Camera Service Ltd

I took my camera for assessment and paid $39 up front. I told them the issue and gave them a small part in a bag that had fallen out of the camera. After a week or two they called me to say that the camera was working fine and the problem was that he batteries were low! (they were new batteries). I asked about the part and the repair guy said very abruptly that he didn't know what it was. He told me a repair is not worth it. So I got nothing but inconvenience for my $39.

Would not at all recommend the Greg and the people at Victoria Camera Service. I should have paid attention to the previous reviews I was reading. Spent almost $200 just to find out a number of items were not fixable. While I can accept that, I can't accept that it took over two months to discern this and there was very little communication in the mean time. You'd be better off going to Camtex in Vancouver. They're far more competent and will give you good service.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Are you kidding me - they did fix my camera but broke another component and blamed me for it! Unbelievable. Highly suggest going to a different store before even considering this one. Completely horrendous experience.

I brought my Panasonic lumix camera in and they told me i needed to leave a deposit of $50 for them to look at it and get back to me in 2 days as to a final ëstimate". After a week, I never heard back". I came in a week later, the camera was apart and no estimate or source of the problem. I took it back...in pieces!!!

I've heard good things about VCS but was surprised how poorly I was treated. I brought in my working Nikon D90 to have the broken LCD screen replaced. I paid the extra cost of impact damage diagnostic fee of $50 which was fine, and I received a call back a few days later and was told there were some stripped screws, due to someone else trying to fix it prior to them, but they could replace the LCD and cover for $200, and asked if I wanted to go forward. I said yes, and waited another few days

Not Impressed

Not Impressed I am not impressed with the way Victoria Camera Service runs their business. Also I have learned a lesson. Check the internet before venturing into an unknown business. I learned two things on the internet subsequently (unfortunately). I found many similar complaints about Victoria Camera Service on the internet and also that I could likely fix the camera myself for much less money than they demanded. They demand a $28.00 which often may not be justified. Never recommend them
