The place is so scrambled so I’m physically back to back to with the guest sitting behind us. The food is so so. The waitress is very tight her smile and indifferent, although responds to the request, but in the way that she is doin a big favour for us, like we are in debt to her or something. The most shocking thing is that I wa told to pay 10% tip at least when paying the bill. Since when it’s mandatory to pay tips at certain min %?! Such a waste to go there :(
I used to go to this restaurant and they were pretty good, but I just recently went there and the service was absolutely HORRIBLE. First I went in there and got seated and started to order. It was only myself and another table. It took them a solid 35 minutes to get our food. And after we got our food we asked 3 different waitresses to get us water and after 15 minutes of asking they finally gave it to us. It seemed like they were only giving drinks and food to the other table and treated us wor
I lived close by New Lakeview over 15 years ago and was a frequent diner both in and for take-out. I recently moved back to the area and was happy to see that nothing had changed. (unfortunately not even the pink walls) Although the decor leaves something to be desired the food does not fall short. I rate their Singapore noodles as the best I have ever tasted. (better than in Singapore!) The prices are low and servings are generous. The won-ton soup is excellent and they feature fresh crab dishes with a variety of sauces. Lunch hour is busy with short wait for a table but the specials run to 3pm.
While the decor leaves a lot to be desired (more on that below), the food more than makes up for this. The menu is quite large and the kitchen will accommodate some special requests. Portion sizes are huge for both the lunch specials and dinner dishes. The overall service is so-so.
The restaurant itself is quite small and does not have many tables, so waits are common during busy hours. The walls are "Pepto Bismal" pink, and there isn't much in the way of atmosphere, so this is probably not the best place for a first date. However, it is a good casual family dinner spot.
The food is what really makes this a great place, so takeout or delivery is a good option.
