Alejandro Rojas has loved dancing since he was a young boy. Today, as the owner of ETOWN SALSA Dance Studios, he enjoys sharing this passion with his students. "I envision Edmonton to have its own enormous and vibrant Latin dance community like the major cities across the world," he says.
Originally from Chile, Alejandro immigrated to Edmonton and kept his cultural traditions alive in almost all aspects of his life. Dance is a big part of his culture and tradition. He came to love Edmonton's salsa scene and spent a lot of time dancing in nightclubs. After a time, Alejandro decided to convert this passion into a regular paying job and opened ETOWN SALSA Dance Studios.
The name ETOWN SALSA was originally part of a nonprofit organization he was affiliated with, and the first word is also a nickname for Edmonton. Alejandro liked the modern feel of the name and felt that it resonated well with the dance studio he wanted to create.
